Won City Connection

Exactly as the title says. Total is $4.45 with shipping. It's a bit more than what the price guide says it's worth, but I'm okay with that. Lets hope the game gets here quickly so I can play it! I'm pretty excited about this game, I've been trying to win it off and on for awhile now since it was first shown to me. Glad I could get it for a decent price.

Gift to myself

That's right, I finally bought myself a Wii. I hardly buy myself expensive fun things, and when the price drop happened sooner than anticipated, I rushed over to the nearest Wal-Mart and picked it up!

I didn't pick up any games with it, but I have Cooking Mama that my Mom gave me a long time ago cause she hated the game so much. I also downloaded Dr. Mario RX and got my ass handed to me playing online. I need much practice. Not sure what I will get next, but I have my eyes on getting the Data East Collection when it finally comes out. Gotta have Burgertime!

Does the SNES work?

Let there be light....

Yay for Mario Paint! I wanted to get Super Mario World, but Play & Trade wanted $25 for it! No thanks, I'll find it cheaper on eBay, I'm sure!

Loot for this weekend!

Lookit all the fun items! Got my 100th game, Wizards and Warriors at Play & Trade along with all the SNES stuff. Mario Paint along with the mouse, some AV cables, and an AC adapter. Elevator Action came in the mail today and required extensive cleaning, but I got it to work. It was my first experience taking apart a game and it went well.

I found this shirt at Hot Topic for a whopping $3.99! Too cool!

Georgia Lot

I got my lot in the mail. Yay. The games are as close to perfect as a 20+ year old game can get. The labels, contacts, and cartridge are all in excellent condition with very little flaws. It took longer than expected, but that's okay. I found out that the seller is in Georgia and apparently there are some crazy floods going on out there, so I can deal with the extra time. The only thing that bothers me is that the tracking number never updated after it left Georgia. Postal workers are getting lazy. But it's here and that's all that matters. Now all I'm waiting for is Elevator Action. That should be here soon hopefully.

I only need 4 more games to get to 100. I will accomplish that this weekend. Then I will celebrate somehow..

The Magic Of Scheherazade and Legendary Wings

Two games I acquired today. I got a lesson on how to pronounce "Scheherazade". Kind of sounds like "Charizard".

My lot of black labels

I got one of the lots I won in the mail today. The games look wonderful and did not require any cleaning at all (even though I clean them all anyway). Too bad I can't play Gyromite without R.O.B.

Cleaning the Super Nintendo

So I was bored today and I decided that I would finally clean up the Super Nintendo that I inherited a while ago. I could only do the outside cause after trying the whole melting of the plastic pencil end thing a million times I never got any screws out.

This is what the SNES looked like in the beginning. I understand that it had been sitting outside for a long time (I think years) in a plastic bag.

This is after I had taken a clean paper towel and just got off as much dirt without using too much elbow grease. I also shook the system a lot to try to get out all the loose stuff from the inside. A lot of stuff fell out, but there's still some stuff in it. Eventually when I get it open I'll be able to get it out.

This is my cat stealing cotton swabs as I'm trying to do more detailed cleaning. I also used a toothbrush to try to get in between smaller places. The toothbrush also came in handy when scrubbing some tough spots.

The final product. As you can see, it has yellowed a bit, but it's not too bad. There is only a few scuffs on it, but it is surprisingly not too bad considering how it looked originally.

The last thing I need to do is test it out. I tried to see if I had an adapter that would fit but I didn't, so I'm not too sure what I'll do. I guess it won't kill me to go buy an adapter even if it doesn't work. If I get power, then I'll invest in AV cables (or just use the RF switch for the NES if it works and the picture isn't too bad) and get me some games! Lets hope that it works!

Burgertime here

This was my first try this evening.. and my only good score.

I win at eBay pt. 2

Won more games. Slalom, Golf, and Gyromite for $0.99 plus $3.00 shipping. Put an offer out for another lot, but I have a feeling I will not get a response for it. I'm okay with that too, since I was informed that I could purchase the games for a buck locally. We'll see what happens.

I win at eBay

After a long drought of money and not being able to eBay, I finally decided to browse randomly and found this lot ending in 10 minutes for 5 games, NES Play Action Football, Golf, Rad Racer, California Games (with the manual), and Jeopardy. A nice addition is that all the games have dust covers. Won the auction for $9.99 plus $4.00 shipping, so it comes out to about $2.50 a game. Not too bad, I'm not complaining.

My total number of games (not including doubles): 90. I'm slacking.

Burgertime Fail

Grouping is not happening tonight. I played for over an hour straight and could not keep the group together. I've had enough for the evening.

Little progress

So far I have not gotten any response to offers I have put out on games. They end tonight (since they only last 48 hours), so I'm assuming they did not like my offer and decided not to decline them but just let them expire. I found a copy of City Connection for $3.99 with free shipping that I've got my eye on, but I don't know if I'll get it or not.

I played some elevator action and got to a little over 18,000, but nothing special. I was hoping to win a copy for my NES this weekend, but that's not looking too promising. I should be playing Burgertime, but instead I'm going out for the evening. I'm tired, so maybe I'll have a chance to play when I get home.

Elevator Action

After accomplishing the 100k on Burgertime, I feel it's time to move onto a different title. This isn't to say that Burgertime will not be played (maybe I will try to score 150, or even 200k), but the challenge is on for Elevator Action. I don't know what score I will try to achieve, but needless to say I need to practice. I don't currently own a copy of this game for the NES, but I do have other means of playing. I can play on Nintendo8.com , I can play it on my DS (thanks to Games n' Music), or I can play the arcade version on the Taito Legends disc for PlayStation 2.

I tried it on the PlayStation 2, but I swear that version is much more difficult than it is on the DS or on Nintendo8. I have hardly played that game, and my best score so far is 16650. I know, not very impressive, but I'm just learning!

The few things I do know about the game is that just shooting the guys only gives you 100 points, dropping a light on their head gives you 300 points, and using the kung-fu kick on them gives you 150 points. Don't forget going in the red door, it gives you 500 points. And after completing the first stage, you get a bonus 1000 points after you swiftly jump into your vehicle (that I believe says "spot" on it).

I hope to attempt to get a copy for the NES very soon, just have to get paid in order to win myself a copy! This Friday... lets hope I can find a good deal quick!

Lifeforce and Burgertime

I got Lifeforce in the mail a few days ago. It's in perfect condition and plays just fine. It had a barcode sticker on the top right corner, but it came off with no problems. Hardly any scuffs on the label.

Anyway, I got the score I'd been aiming for on Burgertime.

Am I happy about it? Not really. The only reason why I got this score was because I copied someone on how to group on the first stage. So I don't feel very accomplished. I think it should be a draw.
